A respected regional contactor with a rich history of delivering new build and refurbishment projects across a wide range of sectors is searching for an Estimator.  As Estimator you will work within our Estimating team working on Traditional and Design and Build tenders. 
 
Company Overview: 
The company is a privately owned construction company operating within a 60 mile radius of its office in Newbury. Work undertaken consist of design and build projects predominantly in the Education, Social Housing, Commercial and Industrial Sectors, typically ranging in value from £1m to £10m.

The Role:

Responsible to the Chief Estimator, this position will expand our existing estimating department. As one of the estimating team, you will be responsible for taking off and pricing projects in our core areas of work. There will be a mix of new build and refurbishment projects based upon either BOQ or Spec & Drawings. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

Work with the estimating team to take off and price tenders. 
Attend tender launch / adjudication meetings. 
Measure builders quantities and prepare Bills of Quantities. 
Pricing of Bills of Quantities including preliminaries and fees. 
Prepare subcontract and material work package enquiries. 
Track and manage all tender documentation. 
Establish risk and opportunities register. 
On Design and Build projects, assist the Design Manager and Bid team with the production of Contractors Proposals. 
 
The Individual should have: 
A minimum of 4 years proven experience in a similar role. 
Knowledge of Causeway and Cad measure estimating software (or similar). 
Be a team player with good communication skills. 
Experience of working in our core range of project types and sectors. 
Have experience of working on multiple estimates at the same time.
