Underwriter

A new position has been created with a successful Financial Services company based in Cardiff for an experienced Underwriter to join the company on a permanent basis. The company is a global leader in their field and have numerous worldwide locations. The Underwriter will be to assess finance applications, and make a decision on the creditworthiness and affordability of the customer.

Underwriter Duties:

• Review proposal applications to evaluate the data and characteristics of those applications
• Make critical decisions as to acceptance or rejection of finance applications, or identify additional information needed to make a decision
• Mitigate fraud at all times
• Maintain service level agreements
• Communicate effectively with the retail network and internal departments
• Ensure ongoing adherence to all relevant compliance regulations that may govern the business and complete all regulatory knowledge training where applicable in a timely fashion.

Applicants will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a good understanding of underwriting process.

Underwriting Working Hours:

Working week is comprises of 39 hours, the department is open from 8.00am and 8.00pm between Monday and Friday. They are also open on the weekend; hours on a Saturday and Sunday are 9.00am and 5.00pm
