Exciting opportunity with Kelda Organic Energy Buyer Based at Millerhill, Edinburgh 3 - 6 month contract We currently have a vacancy for a Buyer to join the Kelda Organic Energy Team in Edinburgh. You will be the focal point for the negotiation and placement of purchasing arrangements for this exciting new start up business, including the gathering of requirements from key users.

Salary £20,000 - £28,000 dependent on experience + pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days annual leave

What will the role involve?

Your role will be to ensure that all spend requirements are understood, reviewed and appropriate purchase order arrangements are in place with ample opportunity for some delegated negotiations.

You will be required to produce a register of all contracts within the KOE Edinburgh, ensuring that this is shared and understood by management.

You will required to become an expert user of Procurement systems with an ability to train and support users to ensure compliance with required governance.

You will be responsible for the issuing and collective evaluation of all enquiries and supplier pre-qualification questionnaires whilst working with the KWS Contracts and Procurement Manager on the preparation, issue and evaluation of tenders.

You will be expected to provide a high degree of customer service to internal stakeholders and colleagues, including providing expert user training and will be responsible for managing, maintaining and optimising relationships with stakeholders both cross business and external.

What skills are we looking for?

Essentially you will have had experience of frontline purchasing / procurement with experience of using SAP Procurement systems.

You will be fully competent using MS Excel and Word with a good level of attention to detail.

You will be able to communicate effectively, be able to influence, have good inter-personal skills and be comfortable at becoming a team player within the business.

Good organisational skills are also essential with the need to meet deadlines and be organised enough to see tasks through to a conclusion.

You will be required to work a flexible working pattern based on the needs of your internal customers.

Kelda Organic Energy (Edinburgh) KOE(E) is a new company responsible for operating a 20 year contract with Zero Waste: Edinburgh and Midlothian to recycle food waste. We are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the newly built Food Waste Treatment Facility which will divert 31,000 tonnes per year of food waste from landfill. The waste will be converted into a fertiliser that will benefit local agriculture and the process will also provide green energy. The facility will operate to high standards of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures, working towards accreditation in these areas from start up.
