SEN Teaching Assistant- temporary to permanent
We are currently recruiting for a Special Needs Assistant to support in a large educational facility. SEN experience is desirable and ideally gained in an education setting but if you have experience in a care or support capacity this will be considered.
The school:
Based near to Stockport this school is constantly expanding and developing and is situated on a large plot of land in a purpose built building to cater for the needs of the students. The staff are caring and form a cohesive supportive team, the students have a range of needs from moderate to profound and severe learning difficulties.
The children:
The college offer extra support for students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome. The school can also provide help for those with visual or hearing impairments and other physical disabilities. Students study a variety of courses and require extra help to complete their studies.
The job:
- To support various PMLD/SLD/EBD students on a one to one basis and in class
- Have experience and/or qualifications relating to SEN
- Offer support when needed both academically and around schools
- Be able to support more than one student, and more than one subject
- Some personal care possibly required if needed
