Assistant Quantity Surveyor
West Sussex
Projects Historic and High-end Residential
Salary £25,000 to £35,000 + Package+ 25 days Holiday
A West Sussex refurbishment contractor who is well known for undertaking complicated refurbishments, is searching for an Estimator/Surveyor.
The company undertakes luxury residential, historic and listed refurbishments and renovations. You will be working closely with Directors of the company and will be given the opportunity to implement your own systems where applicable.
The office environment is friendly and relaxed, with a professional attitude.
To be considered for this role you will need to be an enthusiastic and motive individual with either general contractor or development background.
Responsibilities:
Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities for clients.
Preparing plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation for project manager.
Assisting the projects team with the costings of variations on live projects.
Requesting sub-contractor quotes for tenders.
Undertaking cost analysis of sub contract quotes.
Submitting purchase orders to sub-contractors and suppliers.
Assisting in establishing client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies.
Performing risk, value management and cost control.
Advising on procurement strategy.
Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks.
Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
Assisting with the allocating of work to subcontractors.
Providing advice and forecasts about costs.
Providing advice on contractual claims.
Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
Valuing completed work.
Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
