Headquartered in California with the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in West Lothian, this company is an emerging market leader in the research, development and manufacturing of optoelectronic equipment used within data-communication centers.

They are presently implementing a significant ramp plan in terms of people, production and new product introduction. They are now looking to make the key hire of Test Engineer to support their optical subassembly production line.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the successful applicant will be expected to provide continuous support during the transition from NPI to production as well as improving existing products and systems.

Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Daily monitoring of production test results to drive yield enhancement.
- Developing test equipment from initial conception; test methodology through to production release of the complete package.
- Ensuring test stability, reliability and detection of product yield issues.
- Test development to screen random defects in addition to functional test of datasheet parameters
- Interface with development teams to manage production ramp.
- Software development of "bespoke" production test systems
- Development of product specific test hardware

To be a successful applicant you will be educated to degree level or equivalent within an electrical or electronic discipline. You will understand the critical areas of product performance required to root cause and resolve production yield issues. With good foundations in statistical analysis tools the successful candidate must be able to make accurate decisions when under pressure.

Demonstrating a sound understanding of semiconductor engineering (analogue/discrete components / individual transistors and diodes) and with excellent communication skills you will be proactive and capable of working without direct supervision.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- Python or C / C++ development - essential
- SAS JMP - desirable
- R, SQL/mySQL, and Labview experience would be advantageous
- 10G/28G data communications test or experience of RF test hardware- advantageous
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills.
- Ability to work to tight and variable time scales
- Good communication, networking, presentation and negotiation skills.

Candidates who have previous experience of working within a fast paced manufacturing environment are preferred.
