They are offering a terrific opportunity for a commercially orientated Civil Engineering Technician to join their team of highly-specialized professionals, trained in designing and developing complex solutions in the civil engineering, geotechnical and environmental construction markets, and build a long term career with all the support and training necessary to progress to an Area Business Development Engineer in the future.

CIVIL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

SALARY: £20,000- £24,000 basic, plus bonuses, rewards and incentives.

LOCATION: Based at the company’s head office located just outside Oxford and within easy reach of all major road links, you must live within easy daily commuting distance, and may be looking for work in the Oxford, Abingdon, Bicester, Banbury, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Newbury, or Reading areas.

Reporting to the Technical Manager and working as part of a close-knit team, your role as Civil Engineering Technician will be to support the Regional Manager & Area Sales Co-ordinators in all aspects relating to regional sales, technical enquiries, business development and customer service, developing and maintaining relationships with consultants, contractors, Local Authorities, public utilities and developers, and pursuing ongoing contracts to generate materials enquiries and follow up on existing sales leads.

Your duties and responsibilities on a day-to-day basis will include:

* Provide technical advice to clients.

* Generate technical proposals.

* Prepare detailed designs in accordance with the company’s ISO9001 quality procedure.

* Responding to incoming phone calls and generating quotations.

* Reading drawings, quantifying materials & preparing outline quotes.

* Use of CRM database manage enquiries, follow up and secure orders

* Carry out preliminary analysis of products and solutions using in house software.

* Create construction drawings and bespoke details.

* Proactive development and monitoring of customer relationships and managing their expectations.

* Participating in technical presentations and seminars to new and existing clients.

Ideally you should have 3+ years’ experience working in a construction / civil engineering related position, possibly as a Civil Engineering Technician, Technical Support Engineer, Civil Engineering Designer, Civil Cad Technician, Environmental Engineer, Junior Civil Engineer, or similarly related position.

IT literate, with good levels of proficiency in AutoCAD and a knowledge of CRM databases, you will probably be a graduate with a Civil Engineering / Construction related degree, or be qualified to HNC/HND level.

You will be a proactive, self-motivated professional, able to manage priorities, with the confidence and initiative to promote new ideas, excellent communication / client facing skills, and a real desire to progress your career with a global market leader.
