Our client is looking for a Health and Social Care Assessor to join their team in a new field based role travelling throughout Bishops Auckland and County Durham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health and Social Care Assessor to join a quality orientated company. You do not need to deliver Functional Skills in this role as the company employ dedicated Tutors to support on this.
Suitable candidates will have recent experience of working as a Health and Social Care Assessor in order to hit the ground running.
You will need to hold the following qualifications:
You must hold a TAQA, CAVA, A1 or D32 / D33 Assessor award.
A minimum of PTLLS / AET Teaching qualification will be required. Any higher qualifications would be beneficial although not essential e.g Cert ed, CTLLS, DTTLS etc.
You will also require a Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care as a minimum.
The role
This role will involve assessing Apprenticeships at level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care. You will not need to delivering Functional Skills.
This is a work based learning role so you will be travelling to meet with learners in their own place of work. An average caseload is 40 - 50 learners. Some classroom training delivery will also be required.
This role would suit someone that is quality driven and has a passion and enthusiasm for high quality Assessing and the Care sector. A desire for keeping CPD up to date will be required and you will have opportunities to maintain this.
You will be required to keep learners motivated and on track throughout the duration of their Apprenticeship. This will involve setting them tasks to complete when you are not there, carrying out observations on the work they are completing and gathering witness testimonials and statements from other colleagues and staff. Initial Assessments and basic skills tests will be carried out when signing learners on to the Apprenticeship programme.
You will need to build good relationships with Managers and staff of the places that you are visiting.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to empathise with people is essential.
You will be using paper based portfolios so an excellent knowledge of current standards is essential.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week. 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday with 30 mins for lunch. Flexibility is required due the travel required within the role
Holidays: 26 days + 8 days bank holiday
Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (Dependent on skills, qualifications and experience)
Benefits: Laptop, mobile phone, 4% employer pension contribution. Annual company performance bonus may be available depending on company performance
Travel: Field based role with travel throughout the Bishop Auckland and County Durham. Business mileage is paid at 45p per mile.
