Payroll Clerk – Up to £28,000.

The Role

  • Running weekly, fortnightly and monthly Payroll

  • Holiday account reconciliation using payroll software and manual Excel systems.

  • Process tax code changes, student loan deductions, SSP, SMP and SPP etc

  • Pay elements include: Salaries, Bonuses, commission, expenses, deductions, and pensions

  • Paying salaries and PAYE/National Insurance through online banking for clients

  • Process Starters and leavers, issuing P45's

  • Dealing with penalties and charges and where appropriate making sure these are paid on time.

  • Client management, organising and caring for individual/company financial issues.

  • Posting month end journals

  • Sorting and organising Client paperwork and documents logically and accurately.

The Person

  • At least 3 years' experience.

  • Exceptionally strong communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships and influence others.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, and highly organised whilst working to tight deadlines.

  • Strong ability to manage time and tasks.

  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment, who can demonstrate the ability to use own initiative and able to drive change.

  • Knowledge of dealing with Employer Year End processing – P60's.

  • Knowledge of P11d submissions.

  • Knowledge of new government legislation regarding auto-enrolment of pensions in the workplace.

  • Ability to work autonomously and is highly organised and methodical.

  • Experience using Sage, Capium Payroll and HMRC Basic on line tools desirable.
