They now have an exciting opportunity for a Technician in Hair and Beauty to join them where you will provide student supervision, assessment and technical support for teaching staff delivering quality education programmes. This is a part time, term time only position, 11 hours per week 37 weeks per year and is Fixed Term until the end of June 2016.

As a Technician in Hair and Beauty you will support learning and provide a safe working environment for students. Preparing equipment and materials for students within the practical workspace environment, you will be responsible for ordering materials and ensuring that material and equipment stores are managed correctly. Assisting Lecturers in the workshop, you will supervise students in the use of equipment and ensure the practical workspace areas have a general cleanliness.

They are looking for someone who has an NVQ Level 2/3 in Hair & Beauty coupled with GCSE Maths and English at grades A-C (or equivalent). With recent and relevant experience and knowledge and understanding of various qualifications in the area, you will have an awareness of initial assessment procedures and be able to motivate students. Excellent communication skills are key, as is having the ability to work across the age and ability range in classrooms, workshops and one to one situations.
