• Waste Processing –industrial waste treatment, hazardous wastes and landfill disposal
The role
As the Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for the efficient running of our Wrexham PFI Mechanical, Biological Treatment Plant Waste process handling Plant, by optimising the efficiency of our workloads. You will also follow an effective maintenance plan, which ensures a reduction in downtime of the plant through preventative maintenance and the technical maintenance of our waste sorting machinery, such as shredders , trommels, balers and air extraction systems including chemical extraction systems. Your job will be split between planned and reactive work, whilst working with the site performance team, responsible for improving the sites profitability, whilst working in a safe and responsible environment.
Your responsibilities will also include:
• To provide support and flexible arrangements to the operational facility
• To provide leadership and direction of the processes and implementation
• Reduce the impact which these operations have on the environment
• Reporting, analysing and investigating incidents, losses and issues
• Delivering training and competency assessments
• Developing ideas and solutions of operational performance by getting costs and estimates
• Managing and implementing process improvement projects
• Preparation of process strategy to ensure team compliance
• Controlling contractors to ensure they operate in accordance with the safe system of work
• Maintaining appropriate standards of housekeeping across the site
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• HNC / HND electrical or mechanical qualification as a minimum, preferably a scientific or engineering degree
• An understanding of Health and Safety Environmental Legislation
Experience
We need someone who has proven experience of working autonomously, problem solving and providing out comes for concerns / issues. You must have the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal and encourage best working practice to your peers. You will have demonstrable organisational skills, able to think logically and show effective team playing skills and people value.
It is important that you are numerically minded and possess a good understanding of Microsoft and ERP programmes. You must have good commercial awareness, including preparation of investment proposals and budget management. We would like it if you have IPPC authorisation awareness, but if you don’t, training will be given.
