We have a job vacancy for an experienced Care Assistant to join our team in our Reading branch, working in and around the local Newbury area. You will be a permanent member of the healthcare team responsible for bringing the Newcross standard of care to every individual we care for. 

Due to the location of some clients, you should be willing to travel and preferable have access to your own vehicle.

You will be a permanent member of the healthcare team responsible for bringing the highest standard of care to every individual we care for. We have a variety of different shift patterns on offer including days, nights and weekends, presenting the opportunity to tailor your rota to suit family and other commitments.

You will be working regular shifts in local care, nursing and residential homes, and we have a variety of different shift patterns on offer including days, nights and weekends.

The Care Assistant Job Role:

We take pride in the quality of our care, so we’re looking for experienced care assistants with a genuine, caring approach as well as the skills to deliver person-centred care.

You will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and quality of life of each individual in your care. Daily tasks may include assisting with washing and dressing, meal times, personal care and assisting with activities as required.

In order to be considered for this job you will need the following:

  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Willingness to travel
  • Up-to-date moving and handling training
  • At least 3 months’ previous paid experience working in a care or nursing home in the UK within the last 3 years
  • Referee contact details for your current place of work, including a manager who can comment on your clinical ability, and for all employments in the past 18 months or your 3 most recent jobs
  • NVQ2 / SVQ2 in Health and Social Care highly preferable.
