Payroll Team Member

Job Introduction

This a fantastic opportunity for a Payroll Team Leader to join the largest British newspaper, magazine and digital publisher within their Liverpool Payroll team on a 9 month Fixed Term Contract.

Role Responsibility

  • To support other Team Members during busy project periods which may to include main payroll processing duties as well as project related testing or administration which could include any of the following processes for either existing payrolls or the new Local World payroll

 

  • Process HR changes for all staffing changes including starters, leavers and other amendments to employee data in compliance with policy and payroll requirements.

 

  • The input, calculation and recording of sickness payments both statutory and occupational.

 

  • The input, calculation and recording of maternity, paternity and adoption payments both statutory and occupational.

 

  • The processing of relevant Inland Revenue forms including P45, P46 etc.

 

  • The accurate calculations of gross to net.

 

  • Prepare information to assist in the provision of information to external agencies etc as required.

 

  • Advise employees and managers on payroll issues as first point of contact for enquiries.

 

  • Assisting as required with all routine administrative/clerical duties of the section.

The Ideal Candidate

This position requires a highly organised individual with good attention to detail and an understanding of Payroll Legislation. A good understanding of Excel, Word and excellent IT skills are essntial for this role as is relevant experience in a Payroll setting
