Apprenticeships Manager with substantial industry experience required for a leading Specialist Vocational College based in London.

 

SALARY: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

 

JOB OVERVIEW

We have an excellent opportunity for an Apprenticeships Manager that has excellent management / team leading skills and a proven track record managing apprenticeship courses.

Working as the Apprenticeships Manager you will manage a team of consultants and will create, develop, implement and maintain a viable Apprenticeship offer, which meets stringent targets that include increasing enrolment and retention rates, serving the Beauty Retail and Fitness industries.

It is an exciting time for the College, which continues to identify new markets, new partners and new cohorts of learners. Future growth areas include Beauty Retail, Fitness, Leisure and Tourism. Their specialism within Beauty Therapy has enabled them to establish a strong grounding within the Leisure and Tourism industries.

As the Apprenticeships Manager you will have great management skills with experience of working in a similar environment.

DUTIES

  • Leading, motivating and co-ordinating the work of a team of Assessors
  • Coaching and training Assessors in order for them to perform their job role
  • Communicating relevant business information to the team on a regular basis, using a range of media to maintain the team’s currency of knowledge
  • Undertaking performance management processes including, probationary reviews; 1:1’s, disciplinary and grievance reviews where required in line with College expectations and stated standards of all staff within the area
  • Recruitment and induction of Assessors in line with business needs, involving support staff as require
  • Responsible for agreeing and allocating employer sites, learners’ and specified training activities to individual Assessors, ensuring the activities are in line with company delivery protocols and that the Assessors complies with QA criteria
  • Ensuring new employees complete their inductions, (with the assistance of the QA/LQA) confirming within a successful probation review that the new employee understands their job role and responsibilities within their probationary period
  • Previous experience in managing national apprenticeship delivery, logistics, planning/managing a remote provision and team
  • Qualified and experience in planning assessment and IQA (Internal Quality Assurance) processes
  • Proven track record of high success rates
  • Proven track record of working with a range of Awarding Bodies and achieving clean audits.
  • Responsible for the management of the audit process, online tracking systems, e-portfolio, QA process and resource development
  • Thorough knowledge on apprenticeship frameworks, trailblazers and building/mapping against standards and performance criteria

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Must have substantial experience and a proven track record within a similar role
  • Assessing qualification
  • Internal Verifier / Quality Assurance qualification
  • Relevant occupational experience
  • Successful track record within a commercial target driven business delivery environment delivering apprenticeship programmes at a national level
  • Experience of working with government funding and Apprenticeship agencies
  • Successful people management experience including Assessors and associated delivery staff
  • Experience of achieving challenging targets for income and expenditure and meeting budgets
  • Experience of organisation review and change projects, which informs your approach to these issues
  • Significant successful experience of OFSTED inspections
  • Compiling self-assessment reports and quality improvement plans based on statistical and qualitative analyses
