Confidence in Care – Programme Officer

We are currently seeking to recruit a Programme Officer to join our busy ‘Confidence in Care’ team here in Wales. ‘Confidence in Care’ is a flagship programme, which is being led by the Fostering Network and is delivered in partnership with Barnardo’s, Action for Children and TACT with a formal evaluation being  undertaken by Cardiff University. The programme totalling 4.7 million over 5 years has been funded by the Big Lottery and is a first for Wales. The programme aims to improve the outcomes for looked after children in Wales over the next five years and influence the way children’s social care is delivered across the country for years to come. This will primarily be achieved through the training of 1,500 foster, kinship and residential carers using the Fostering Changes model.

Fostering Changes, developed by a team at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, is an evidence based training course for carers, empowering them to better manage the children and young people they are looking after. The course is behaviourally based and derives from research into parenting skills, attachment, educational attainment and the academic progression of looked after children in care.

The Programme Officer will play a key role in co-ordinating the day to day activities of our, ‘Confidence in Care’ programme. Working with respected charity partners, you will need to be highly organised and have the ability to prioritise, plan and deliver providing an effective and professional support service to the programme. We are also looking for an individual with excellent communication and engagement skills, a creative, dynamic approach and a real passion for children and young people in care.

Rydym ar hyn o bryd yn bwriadu recriwtio Swyddog Rhaglenni i ymuno â’n tîm prysur, ‘Hyder mewn Gofal’, yma yng Nghymru.  Mae ‘Hyder mewn Gofal’ yn rhaglen bwysig, sydd dan arweiniad y Rhwydwaith Maethu ac a ddarperir mewn partneriaeth â Barnardo’s, Gweithredu dros Blant a TACT, gyda gwerthusiad ffurfiol yn cael ei wneud gan Brifysgol Caerdydd.  Mae’r rhaglen sy’n werth cyfanswm o £4.7 miliwn dros 5 mlynedd wedi’i chyllido gan y Loteri Fawr ac mae’n rhaglen hollol newydd i Gymru.  Nod y rhaglen yw gwella’r canlyniadau i blant sy’n derbyn gofal yng Nghymru dros y pum mlynedd nesaf a dylanwadu ar y ffordd y darperir gofal cymdeithasol plant ledled y wlad am flynyddoedd i ddod.  Cyflawnir hyn yn bennaf drwy hyfforddi 1,500 o ofalwyr maeth, gofalwyr sy’n berthnasau a gofalwyr preswyl gan ddefnyddio model Newidiadau Maethu.

Bydd gan y Swyddog Rhaglenni rôl allweddol o ran cydgysylltu gweithgareddau beunyddiol ein rhaglen ‘Hyder mewn Gofal’.  Gan weithio â phartneriaid elusennol uchel eu parch, bydd arnoch angen bod yn hynod drefnus ac yn meddu ar y gallu i flaenoriaethu, i gynllunio ac i ddarparu gwasanaeth cymorth effeithiol a phroffesiynol i’r rhaglen.  Rydym hefyd yn chwilio am unigolyn a chanddo sgiliau cyfathrebu ac ymgysylltu ardderchog, dull creadigol a dynamig o weithio ac sydd ag angerdd gwirioneddol dros blant a phobl ifanc mewn gofal.
