As a care assistant you are responsible for maintaining the consistent delivery of high quality standards of care to the company's clients; ensuring that every health care assistant on your team is focused and working towards the fulfilment of the client's emotional, physical well-being, spiritual, and diversity needs every single time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a role model and knowledge resource, providing equality of support and direction and appropriate levels of challenge to develop the skills, knowledge and experience of your team members.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of care practice ensuring that you objectively monitor the standards of care practice in your team.
  • To participate as a valued member of the person's support team; ensuring that you provide person centred detailed handovers, recording observations of all the client's welfare needs, any changes or client's requests for changes.
  • You are responsible to act with both personal and professional integrity and respect for others at all times, when liaising with the person's family and external support agencies and when working as part of the professional care and support team.
  • As a care leader you are responsible for proactively managing to ensure that the shift has all the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to provide the optimum level of care; this includes covering holidays, sickness absence and training absence.
  • To accurately and consistently administer, record, store and order medication for the person in your as appropriate, complying with the Company's Medication Policy and Procedure guidelines and the Care Quality Commission regulatory guidance. Reporting immediately and factually any non-compliance or anomalies to the shift leader and recording in writing in the appropriate register.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that you follow, regularly keep up-to-date and understand the person's plan of care and risk assessments.
  • Responsible to record and report to the shift leader any safeguard or significant issues accurately, immediately and in compliance with the Company's reporting policy and procedure.
  • Responsible to participate in the development of all aspects of a person's care plan and the risk assessment process; to do this in-line with Company policies and procedures and statutory requirements in place at the time.
  • You are responsible to ensure that your professional practice and your work is within and kept up-to-date with the principles laid out in The Health and Safety at Work guidance, Care Quality Commission regulatory guidance and Equality Act 2010 regulations.
