Job Title: PR Campaigns Manager
Location: Castleford, Wakefield
Salary: £29,208 - £32,406
Hours: Full-time, Permanent
Our Client is a charitable organisation whose core business is the provision of general needs housing and supported housing. The organisation operates in Wakefield and owns and manages over 31,000 homes. It has one subsidiary that carries out repairs and maintenance work outside of the social housing sector.
The Role:
- Manage our client's media relations to promote their work to stakeholders and support management of any reputational issues;
- Be a driving force for digital communications, developing online communication channels to help deliver our client's Business Strategy to get all tenants online by 2020 and;
- Produce effective communications using the most appropriate channel and technology to meet stakeholders' needs. Keep abreast of the latest developments in communications, especially digital channels, and an awareness of industry best practice;
- Ensure compliance with our client's corporate identity, image and brand, Plain English and Corporate Style Guide through all communications activity at all times, ensuring that protected characteristics are taken into account in line with the Equality Act 2010;
- Develop systems to plan for, measure, evaluate and share communications activities on a regular basis ensuring that resources are aligned and invested in the right areas maximising return on investment;
- Build good contacts with peers throughout the business and in the Housing industry, to keep up to date with regional and local developments and how they affect key messages and campaigns and build good relationships with relevant media representatives;
- Review e-communications strategy and protocols to ensure they are effective
- Manage PR and photography budgets in accordance with the Financial Regulations and manage suppliers to ensure value for money at all times;
- Take part in on-call media rota to support the business out of office hours.
- Co-ordinate all press activity, press releases and statements to approval stage to meet the needs of our client, its Board and Corporate Management Board (CMB).
- Manage content on all online sites, social media channels and employee intranet to ensure it is kept up to date, engaging and timely in line with the needs of customers, stakeholders and employees;
The Person:
- A relevant professional or management qualification or degree is desirable.
- Must have qualification at Level 6 of the Framework for Higher Education Qualification such as Degree, Award, Certificate or Diploma at Level 6 or equivalent.
- Significant experience in the public, private or voluntary sector and/or their representative organisations.
- A successful track record of communicating and working effectively in co-operation with a wide range of internal and external organisations.
- Experience of delivering successful partnership working and relationships with other bodies and communities.
- Experience of different interactions with the media.
- Experience of working in politically sensitive environments.
- Strategic planning for commercial organisations.
- Successful budget management evaluating competing budgetary priorities.
- Evidence of success in establishing effective performance measures and a performance culture that has achieved service objectives.
- Hold a full valid UK driving licence and use of vehicle on demand.
- Able to work collaboratively with a wide range of people, sometimes with conflicting objectives.
- To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ethical approach to handling sensitive information.
