HS Butyl Ltd is looking for 2 Day Shift Engineers to join us in Lymington. The successful applicants will join us on either a Permanent basis in the Business Development Engineering department, or on a 6 month fixed term contract basis in the Maintenance Engineering team. Our Business Development Engineering team is a new and growing team. The candidate joining this small team will be part of a new exciting project at HS Butyl, supporting the Business Development Engineering Manager on an innovative new process of creating our world renowned butyl solution. We are looking for someone with previous experience of implementing successful Engineering projects. Flexibility with daily working hours in line with projects is essential.
The candidate joining our Maintenance Engineering team will help to provide preventive and breakdown maintenance engineering support for all plant, equipment and buildings at our Lymington production facility. It would initially be a 6 month Fixed Term Contract but, skills dependant, may become a longer contract.
Key Responsibilities of the Day Shift Engineers:
- Respond to plant and equipment breakdown in an efficient and timely manner.
- Within agreed and planned programs complete mechanical maintenance routines as issued by engineering and direct production supervision.
- Participate pro-actively in the process of continuous improvement, including identification and actioning of agreed work.
- Assist in maximising equipment availability without compromising safety and production requirements.
- Maintain all engineering documentation and records of repairs, planned maintenance and testing procedures.
- Manage own workload based on instruction and formal requests.
- Provide effective and regular communication to shift and engineering direct reporting structure on plant and equipment issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required by the Day Shift Engineers:
The position requires the candidate to hold suitable engineering apprenticeship qualifications, specifically Mechanical and Electrical 17th edition IEE Regs. Must have actively provided engineering support on plant and equipment in a busy production environment for a minimum of 5 years. Previous experience with Extruder or Mixing machines or food processing equipment would be of great benefit.
