Trainee or Senior Multimedia Journalist
Job Introduction
The Loughborough Echo is looking for a first-rate trainee reporter who is brimming with ideas to make our website and newspaper sing and dance.
The position is also open to a senior reporter with the right multimedia and social-media skills who can make stories come alive and help grow our online audience.
We want someone with sharp writing skills, a nose for off-diary news, a head full of ideas, a flair for making a wide network of contacts, and who would be able to write to strict deadlines under pressure for print and online.
Role Responsibility
The position would suit a talented undergraduate looking for their first job or a reporter looking to take the step up to a big weekly newspaper with a strong digital brief to break news and be at the forefront of coverage in its patch.
Experience in social media, shooting video and taking pictures would be a big advantage. They will need to be able to break news instantly on the web with copy that is crisp, clean and accurate.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is at ease in the new digital world and can play an important part with our website.
We are looking for a recruit who has passed their NCTJ qualifications and has 100wpm shorthand.
Please note a full driving licence and own car are essential.
