This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established and respected General Insurer as the organisation's Senior Group Financial Reporting Accountant.

Our client is seeking a candidate who will come in assist the Group Financial Reporting Manager in preparing the IFRS financial statements together with supplementary information to support internal, external and regulatory reporting.

Your Key Responsibilities:

* You will analyse and review the financial performance of the allocated business unites as well as the consolidated Group and write commentary to assist understanding and insight.
* You will create, maintain and enhance productive working relationships with their allocated business units.
* You will business partner with business unit accounting teams by actively engaging with them in addressing key issues and to provide advice on resolving those issues that may impact the financial results of the Group.
* You will become a subject matter expert on key Audit Committee focus areas with relation to allocated business units.
* You will understand the consolidation concepts of a multinational corporation and support the consolidation of business unites and the Group.
* You will identify the need for consolidation journals and correcting entries to business unit submissions and the Group consolidation and understand the impact on the Group result.
* You will understand he interactions of all financial reporting aspects of the Group and use this knowledge to provide advice to stakeholders as required.
* You will assist with various aspects of the external reporting process for the consolidated Group, including analytical review, drafting and completing disclosure notes, preparing new disclosure requirements and developing efficient data collection mechanisms.
* You prepare ad hoc information, presentations or reports and provide challenge and explanation where required.
* You will liaise with other head office functions to maintain quality and efficiency of reporting.
* You will liaise with auditors, ensuring the timely and accurate proofs, and audit trail for the annual and interim Group financial statements.
* You will adhere to the financial and internal controls framework for Group Finance.
* You will prepare quarterly and annual returns to the local and international regulators.

Role Essentials:

* Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
* Strong technical ability with regards to interpretation of accounting standards and their application.
* Relevant financial reporting experience, preferably in a Group capacity of a large institution.
* Good knowledge of life and/or non-life insurance.
* Excellent analytical review and report writing skills.
