Location: Sheffield based with travel
Salary: £25,000 + Company Van & Benefits
Our client traditionally design and manufacture high quality electrical connection solutions to meet their customer's enclosure, high voltage and lighting requirements. More recently they have expanded their remit to include the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of advanced canine hydrotherapy units, Tudor Treadmills.
They are now looking for a Technician to join their friendly and proactive Tudor Treadmills team. This is a superb opportunity for someone with practical hands on experience and a strong technical, mechanical and electrical knowledge.
The role will be 20% field based and 80% workshop based, therefore, a full UK driving licence is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check all parts provided from stores, match to the picking list, and notify a Supervisor of any missing / incorrect parts
- Follow wiring diagrams to assemble electrical draws and other electrical / electronic derived items
- Use a variety of hand and power tools and manual labour to support the final product assembly, and installation at customer's premises
- Mentor and assist in overseeing the apprenticeship framework for the Apprentice Technician
- Ensure all completed treadmills are inspected and fully tested before despatch and that all ISO 9001 procedures are followed
- Generate ideas for continuous improvements on how processes can be amended to improve efficiency
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
- Ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and targets are met
- Follow assembly instructions, putting together parts in the right order e.g. gaskets, seals, spaces, bearings, mechanisms etc.
- You must be willing and able to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Able to follow instructions and diagrams and read technical drawings
- Able to identify problems and implement workable solutions to meet the needs of both the customer and the company
- Customer focused with excellent communication and listening skills
- Excellent Numeracy and literacy skills
- Excellent record of attention to detail and accuracy
- The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and hardworking individual with the energy and enthusiasm to get the job done and work as part of a team to develop the product and the service.
Desirable
- NVQ in Performing Manufacturing Operations at levels 1 and 2
- Experience of managing or mentoring employees
