JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Insurance Premium Customer Services Credit Control Clerk that either has previous experience or is looking to start a career within the Insurance Industry.

Working for a leading Lloyds Syndicate as the Insurance Premium Customer Services Credit Control Clerk you will review Customers outstanding debt reports (missed premium payments) on a daily basis. Once reviewed you would then contact the relevant Insurance Agent / Broker to collect payment on the missed premiums.

As the Insurance Premium Customer Services Credit Control Clerk you will also issue Notices of Cancellation relating to the relevant insurance policies to the Brokers / Agents, where failure to collect the missed payments has occurred.

Your responsibilities as the Insurance Premium Customer Services Credit Control Clerk will also involve reconciling the estimated premium booked into the customers systems with the actual premium paid and then liaising with brokers to ascertain if the estimated premium will be earned and advising the Customer of the outcome.

To be successful in this role you should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable telephoning Brokers / Agents in relation to missed premium payments and collecting the outstanding amounts, in order for the policy to remain active.

DUTIES

  • Accurately validates the debt position using information taken from the systems
  • Liaises effectively with the customer, Brokers, Agents (from Technician to Director level) and other teams concerning required information
  • Accurately records findings in the customers systems
  • Carries out accurate reconciliation processes
  • Accurately completes Notices of Cancellation and emailing these to the Broker / Agent
  • Follow-ups to ensure pending cases are resolved
  • Liaises with more experienced colleagues in handling complex cases
  • Identifies questionable and / or potentially non-compliant data / matters and initiate prompt action to correct / resolve
  • Maintains positive customer relationships by providing prompt and appropriate responses to inquiries / issues / concerns
  • Listens and ascertains the needs of customers, responding to customers tactfully and courteously
  • Communicates accurate information concerning process, policies and procedures to both internal and external customers
  • Resolves issues with customers while preserving a positive long-term relationship using effective, tactful and courteous manner

 

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have a pleasant and persuasive telephone manner and be comfortable talking to Brokers and Agents in relation to missed premiums and collecting payments in a professional manner
  • Willing to attend periodic training sessions
  • Ability to work within established guidelines and apply standard technical checks as they relate to the risk being processed (training provided where required)
  • Keeps up to date with current industry standards / knowledge
  • Preferably passed or working towards a CII qualification (desirable)
