Care Worker / Patient Transport Support Assistant / Driver required for a specialist Transport Company based in Thurmaston, Leicester, Leicestershire.

 

SALARY: £6.80 - £7.00 per hour

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week (The Company operate a 24 hour service, including weekends, so require employees to be flexible and willing to working shift patterns)

 

PLEASE NOTE: Drivers Licence Required. Candidates are required to have a full driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points in order to be considered for this job.

All candidates will also be subject to a full enhanced DBS check as the role is exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders act (1976).

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Care Worker / Patient Transport Support Assistant / Driver that either has paid or unpaid experience in a direct-care capacity.

Working as a Care Worker / Patient Transport Support Assistant / Driver you will play an important and essential role in the daily transportation needs of your patients.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join the Team to work as a Care Worker / Patient Transport Support Assistant / Driver. Ideal candidates will have a passion for the care industry, delivering a professional and effective service to patients who require transport in the local community.

As the Care Worker / Patient Transport Support Assistant / Driver your main responsibilities of this role include, picking up patients from their home address, Hospital or local clinic and transporting them to their designated destination ensuring their safety and wellbeing is the number one priority at all times. The Company operate a 24 hour service, including weekends, so require employees to be flexible in their approach to working hours and shift patterns.

The nature of the role is physically demanding requiring patients being transported on stretchers, pushing wheelchairs up ramps, lifting people out of properties and down stairs in a carry chair. You may also be required to drive for up to 12 hours a day intermittently which requires a lot of focus and commitment.

The successful candidate will possess strong social skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. A good understanding of the local area and experience of driving a larger vehicle would be beneficial.
