Exciting opportunities with Yorkshire Water Waste Water Treatment Engineer Based in Leeds/Wakefield and Barnsley/Doncaster areas. We are currently looking for 2 x Waste Water Treatment Engineer's (PPE) in our Service Delivery team's based around the Leeds/ Wakefield and Barnsley/Doncaster areas. As a Waste Water Treatment Engineer (PPE), you will be responsible for safely undertaking operational and maintenance activities associated with day to day running of the largest Waste Water Treatment Works in the region. You will drive for the optimisation of all processes to minimise operational costs and meet out performance targets in the areas of Compliance, energy consumption and energy generation.

£23,290.00 - £26,000.00 per annum dependant on experience + attractive pension + quarterly performance related bonus + 25 days annual leave + Company Van

What will the role involve?

Day to day you will be responsible for conducting routine manual and technical work on sites, including routine operations, instrument calibration, sampling, reporting, data analysis and basic maintenance checks to prevent failure and to manage and prioritise workload according to available resource

Your role will take ownership of the site and maintain a safe working environment by implementing and adhering to Health and Safety procedures at all times. This will include the management of contractors via Control of Work, inducting visitors onto sites and mitigating and resolving hazards as they arise.

You will use process information, both manual and IT based, to pro actively optimise the processes on your sites to improve process efficiency in terms of cost of treatment and energy generation.

What skills are we looking for?

Our large Waste Water Treatment Works contain a range of complex processes and control systems, so you will need to be able to demonstrate that you can learn technical processes and be able to problem solve and drive process improvements.

The role is a mixture of technical, analytical, and manual duties, and each part should be met with equal enthusiasm.

We treat Yorkshire's waste water, therefore our assets are operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and deal with a range of biological substances.

You will be expected to work a 7 day working pattern. In addition you will take part in a standby rota providing cover 24 hours a day for responding to issues that arise outside the normal 7am – 7pm site cover.

The roles are based at various locations and sites, and travel across and between sites may be required therefore you are required to have a full valid EU driving licence.
