We are a Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy based in Chorley  looking to recruit an Apprentice Business Administrator

A great opportunity to work in a small and proactive Company learning the foundation of a career in Business Administration before Progressing to Administrative Assistant (Level 3)

The job will include:

Reception Work

  • Answering the telephone, meeting & greeting clients, taking telephone messages

Post

  • Opening and distribution of incoming mail
  • Maintaining post book & stamps
  • Logging and distribution of outgoing mail

Stocks & Supplies

  • Maintaining and ordering of stationery supplies, paper, toner and other consumables

Filing and Archiving

  • Filing
  • Archiving documents using an electronic system

Photocopying & Scanning

  • Meter readings, scanning, photocopying and binding of documents

Typing

  • Copy and Audio typing
  • Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Distribution of documents, electronically and manually

Database Work/Computer work

  • Search and retrieval of documents
  • Putting new clients onto the system

Finance

  • Maintaining petty cash log for VAT
  • Maintaining expenditure invoices log for VAT
  • Assist with distribution, inputting of invoices, credit notes and statements
  • Assist with banking
  • Assist with maintaining income received using ledger and spreadsheets

Skills and Personal Qualities

  • An organised approach and excellent time management skills
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • Computer literacy and good typing skills
  • Good level of English spelling and grammar
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Candidate will require 5 GCSE GRADE A-C  including English and Maths

The Apprenticeship training for this vacancy will be provided by Runshaw College. As this is a funded Apprenticeship programme it is not open to candidates who have already achieved a qualification at Level 4 or above.
