Salary: £16,536 per annum

Fixed Term Contract until 31st July 2016 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some evening and weekend working required

Housingrecruit.com is currently advertising for a Domestic Violence Project Officer on behalf of their client, a leading social housing provider, based in Newcastle under Lyme.

As Domestic Violence Project Officer, you will provide a front-line service to victims and survivors of domestic abuse who live in refuge accommodation or their own homes. Working as part of an innovative team which takes a ‘whole family approach’ to planning and delivering domestic abuse services, you will play a key role in supporting, safeguarding, advocating for and empowering customers to regain control of their lives and develop independence.

As well as managing a caseload and ensuring each customer receives the right support for them, you will deal with accommodation issues, attend multi-agency meetings, produce reports, maintain records and represent the organisation at events.

Candidate Requirements:

For the role of Domestic Violence Project Officer you will need to have direct experience of working with customers with complex needs, as well as an understanding of the domestic abuse field and:

  • Experience of using assessing, planning and outcomes tools for customers
  • Organisational skills and a flexible approach to working
  • The capacity to work under pressure and use your initiative
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations and crises
  • The ability to make decisions based upon knowledge and sound judgement while working to policies, procedures and organisational values
  • GCSE level English and maths, and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
