Description

SAS Software Limited is seeking an experienced Pre-Sales Consultant to lead engagements in a variety of commercial sectors (including but not limited to manufacturing, CPG, communications and energy).

The postholder will own the technical strategy of customer engagement plan and work independently from, but in alignment and close partnership with, the relevant client managers. She/he will be responsible for dealing with complex customer situations using knowledge of SAS solutions and customer requirements and technology landscape to help ensure a win-win outcome for both the customer and SAS. The successful candidate will provide technical and pre-sales leadership to specific sales opportunities, engaging with technical and business leaders.

The postholder will have the ability to deliver high quality, customer-centric experience and be able to demonstrate high impact engagements with customers, partners and colleagues. She/he will have a broad range of experience across commercial sectors and a willingness and skills to be hands-on if necessary in customer-facing workshops, situations, demonstrations, POC’s etc. The successful candidate will be a proactive member of the SAS UK Sales Support function, regularly contributing to team sharing sessions and contributing best practice.

Experience

The successful candidate must possess the following attributes:

  • independent worker who is a self-starter and can show initiative;
  • ability to lead and facilitate meetings, workshop on their own or in large groups;
  • team player who can deal with internal and external politics;
  • excellent presenter and good verbal & written skills;
  • willing to take accountability and responsibility;
  • substantial Pre-Sales experience, working across a number of Commercial sectors; and
  • experience with SAS or analytics. Should have a deep understanding of the application of Business Analytics - usage, architecture, processes and possesses the ability to clearly articulate the benefit of using and deploying analytics solutions and technologies.

The successful candidate will also preferably possess:

  • some experience of project and people management.
