Located in Backwell, North Somerset (candidates must be able to commute) this employer is one of the UK's most ambitious and successful suppliers and installers of solar photovoltaic systems and related parts.

They now seek an experienced warehouse & facilities manager.

Salary will be dependent upon experience.

Immediate start available.

Job Purpose:

- To ensure the smooth and effective operation of the warehouse, goods in and goods out
- To maintain the fabric of the building and estate as far as practicable, and engage external resources when necessary
- To support the physical IT infrastructure, computers, peripherals, network cabling etc.

Responsible for:

- Keeping the stock in the warehouse in good order and properly located
- Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy
- Receiving and unloading (using a fork lift truck or by hand) deliveries into the warehouse
- Maintaining the tidiness of the yard and its facilities, such as waste piles and refuse bins
- Properly receiving and recording the delivery of goods
- Properly preparing and recording the issuing of goods to installers
- Keeping a secure watch over the warehouse and contents
- Some DIY/minor building work, control of tree growth and general odd jobs
- Providing a level of physical IT support in partnership with our remote IT support provider (desk moves, hardware moves, cabling)
- Any other physical service or task as required from time-to-time

Essential experience & skills:

- Suitable fork lift driving experience and accreditation
- Full driving licence
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience and understanding of the workings of a warehouse
- Computer literate (able to operate a computerised scanning stock control system) as well as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, and able to before basic computer connection and set up
- Competent at DIY and minor building skills
- Competent gardener, particularly managing the growth of trees
- 'Out of the box' thinker, able to suggest creative solutions
- Self-managing and able to act on own initiative
- Works well under pressure and managing multiple demands
- Willing to accept new and varied challenges
