Assistant Project Officer / Support Worker – Evening & Weekends

Salary: £14,469 per annum pro rata
Permanent, Part time – Circa 20 hours per week (approx. 13 shifts over 4 weeks)
Housingrecruit.com is currently advertising for a part time Assistant Project Officer / Support Worker on behalf of their client, a leading social housing provider, based in Crewe.
As Assistant Project Officer / Support Worker, you will provide evening and weekend cover at a domestic violence refuge and assist in providing services to women and children who are experiencing or have escaped domestic abuse.
Your primary focus will be to cover the duty desk and be the first point of contact for customers, potential customers, visitors and referrers. Working as part of a highly motivated team which supports customers to transform their lives, you will also carry out a full range of administration duties, assist teammates in a range of areas and contribute to the smooth-running of the refuge.
Candidate Requirements:
To carry out this Assistant Project Officer role it is essential that you have:
- Strong organisation skills
- Ability to prioritise and organise own work load and to work effectively under pressure
- Effective communication skills, with a particular emphasis on verbal communication skills
- Ability to produce written information clearly and concisely
- Ability to work independently
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet service and customer needs
Experience of working with vulnerable women, homeless people or other disadvantaged groups would be an advantage but is not essential.
