Clerical Assistant – Office junior
37 hours per week, full time
We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated, flexible, well organised Clerical Assistant who is able to provide administrative support in our busy and thriving Academy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Dealing with post when necessary
- Making sure that there is enough stationery
- Dealing with telephone enquiries and passing on calls
- Reception cover
- Typing and setting up documents such as letters and reports
- Keeping computer records up to date
- Filing
- Using office equipment such as printers, photocopiers and fax machines
Skills required
- Previous office experience
- Knowledge of SIMS, our management information system would be an advantage however training will be given to the successful candidate
- Good working knowledge of Excel & Word
- Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- Computer literacy and good typing skills
- A good level of English spelling and grammar
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to use your own initiative but also know when matters need to be referred to a supervisor
Hours of work are 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am –4.00pm on Friday.
Although this post is full time, there may be a possibility of term-time only for the successful applicant.
