Are you looking for a caring role where you can make a real difference and contribute to the highest standards of care delivery in the not-for-profit sector?

"...it is clear from our inspection reports this home is an example of best practice in the way it delivers care to everyone as an individual.” - Chief Inspector of Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW), Imelda Richardson on a recent visit to Penylan House with Health and Social Services Minister, Mark Drakeford.

In addition to our outstanding feedback, we are also delighted to announce the completion of Phase 2 of Penylan House and the addition of a further 43 bedrooms. Penylan House has been providing residential, nursing, dementia and convalescence care for more than 50 years. The fully redeveloped modern, purpose-built Nursing Home now has 75 single, ensuite bedrooms and there couldn’t be a more exciting time to join us.

Our Care Assistants and Nurses work together as part of a supportive care team, within an assigned ‘community’ to deliver consistently high quality care and we very much promote a team culture. With a staffing ratio of 3 elders per member of staff, you can be assured that you have the time and space to ensure you deliver person-centred care every day.

Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained by supporting / assisting Elders with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living.

  • Assisting Elders who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of mobility aids and personal equipment provided.

  • Making and changing beds, tidying rooms and maintaining Elders clothing.

You must be able to manage multiple tasks through to completion and handle difficult situations sensitively, adapting promptly to the changing needs of our Elders, always demonstrating sound judgement, common sense and initiative. To be successful in this role, you must be reliable and committed to making a positive difference to the Elders and have a genuine interest and enthusiasm in delivering person-centred care.

Despite being in the not-for-profit sector, Linc’s aim is to operate with commercial awareness and return any profits for the good of the services it operates, the people who use those services, or the wider community.

The home operates 12 hour shifts from 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am. Full time roles operate a two week rolling rota and you will be required to work 3 shifts on week 1 and 4 shifts on week 2 with every other weekend off.

  •

Your employment will commence with a one week training and induction week, commencing 25th January 2016.

There couldn’t be a better time to join Linc!
