Senior Java Developer

We have an opportunity for two talented Senior Java Engineers to join an exciting project team who are looking to build a high performance cloud based computing platform. This role is critical to the project as it will allow a well-funded research program delve into big data analytics on a cloud based platform.
The right candidate will be an expert when it comes to core Java and ideally have experience with Spring, Hibernate, Struts etc. You will be a self-starter trusted to get on with technical issues and help build a solution that has never been done before in the UK.
You will be experienced with development and will be comfortable working in a role that requires you to develop new code to manage the transformation and provisioning of date so experience with XML is essential. This role would suit a developer who enjoys getting involved in a range of different technologies and is comfortable picking up new technologies without much prior knowledge.
In previous roles you will have worked through an agile framework with short sprints and TDD techniques during the development of applications, you will also be looked upon to improve the working practices of the development team.
Finally you will be a strong communicator and able to talk through technical challenges with your peers.
Skills:
* Expert Java developer using Core Java
* XML/XSD
* Strong experience with Object and Component programming concepts
* Experience with Struts, Spring or Hibernate
* Excellent communicator and able to deal with stakeholders of all levels
Desirable Skills:
* Talend
* Angular / Node
* Master Data Management experience
* Postgres
