We are seeking to appoint a hard-working, friendly and enthusiastic maintenance team member to join our thriving co-educational independent day school for pupils aged 3-16yrs.

The successful candidate will work alongside the existing maintenance team members in ensuring that the maintenance requirements of the school are carried out on a timely basis; that facilities are set out for school events; and that the school buildings are opened up and checked each morning. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to cover the school holiday periods and to work overtime on occasional evenings and weekends to cover school events.

Applicants should have excellent general maintenance skills and be willing to carry out repairs around school together with some janitorial duties. There will also be a requirement to drive the school people mover on occasion, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential. The successful candidate must be reliable, responsible and should take pride in the quality of their work.  Previous experience within a school or college environment is desirable but not essential.

Applications will only be considered upon the completion of an application form (available on this website and www.huddersfield-grammar.co.uk) together with a covering letter and CV. Also available on this website are the person specification and the job description. If you have any further questions please contact the school office of Huddersfield Grammar School on 01484 424549 or email: ggarside@huddersfield-grammar.co.uk

Closing date for applications: 5 pm Monday 7th December, 2015

Note that interviews may be held prior to the closing date.

Cognita Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. Appointment is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for regulated activity (if the candidate has lived in the UK) and/or criminal/police checks for all other countries inhabited (irrespective of whether they worked in those countries).
