Are you an experienced Quality Engineer with experience in the automotive industry looking for a new challenge?

My client is a Tier 1 supplier to the automotive industry, who belong to a global business with sites located throughout the world supplying some of the major OEM's and Tier 2 suppliers within the industry.

Due to growth with the business they are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to join their quality team within the business. Within the role of quality engineer you will be a key point of contact for customer and internal complaints and will be charged with driving these issues to a satisfactory and timely resolution. Alongside this the Quality Engineer will be instrumental in new product introductions and product / process improvements.

The main function of the role is to ensure customer satisfaction and minimised quality costs, primarily through the resolution of customer concerns and the development of the company's quality system. The role is primarily customer-focused, but with a requirement for improving our internal quality systems through better management and control of our internal audit process.

Main Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating the resolution of internal & external concerns and the administration of the concerns tracking / reporting system.
  • Initiating disciplined problem solving for internal & external concerns
  • Tracking and formally recording the status of internal and external concerns
  • Reporting status to customers.
  • Proactive management of customer relations
  • Assisting in the development of the company's quality system to ensure customer satisfaction, minimised quality costs and the retention of applicable quality standards (e.g. ISO/TS16949).
  • Participate in APQP, DFMEA & PFMEA meetings
  • Carry out effective system, process and product audits.
  • Ensure all activities carried out are ethical, meet HSE regulations and comply with company procedures

Person Specification

The successful candidate is likely to be working within an automotive manufacturing environment currently and will have good understanding of quality management processes. It is likely the successful Quality Engineer will have experience of maintaining quality systems that comply with TS16949/ISO9001 and have demonstrable evidence of continuous improvement.

Also you will have working and current knowledge of SPC and PPAP (and associated components), hold a full drving licence and valid passport as some European travel will be required within the role.
