Salary: £16,643 to £18,170 plus £1,755 London Weighting

We are currently looking for a Marketing Assistant who will support the implementation of the College's marketing strategy to recruit and retain students across all of our courses and centres and help maintain the College's positive profile locally, regionally and nationally with the public and stakeholders.

The post-holder will also be part of the Marketing and Events Team who are responsible for delivering a range of events held at the main college campus. As such, there will be some weekend work on a rota for which time in lieu can be taken by arrangement.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Book advertising using on and off line media, preparing artwork briefs and handling the design production process
  • Undertake mailshots to schools, colleges and stakeholders
  • Maintain and develop the marketing contacts/stakeholder/press and publications databases
  • Assist with the brief creation, copywriting and production of College literature, brochures, promotional flyers, posters, case studies, newsletters and press releases
  • Maintain and develop the College image library
  • Maintain and develop the College case study catalogue
  • Organise and attend exhibitions, school careers events and assist with College Open Day
  • Promote College Advice Evenings to potential students
  • Coordinate the production of college promotional items and display materials
  • Protect the College brand to internal and external customers
  • Undertake market research surveys and activities and produce related reports
  • Produce website and social media content
  • Collate and present data for use in marketing reports
  • Respond to internal and external marketing enquiries
  • Also, as part of the general role in the Marketing and Events section, the post-holder will be expected to:

- Lead/support event delivery on at least one weekend per month (on a pre-arranged rota). This may include working up to 12 midnight on occasions;

- Engage in event planning and organisation to support staff leading in this area.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who has excellent negotiation and communication skills at all levels, along with a keen eye for detail.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Good level of general education to level 3
  • Previous experience within a marketing role or similar
  • Experience of using Microsoft office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience of project management and event planning
  • Experience of media, copy writing and print buying
  • An understanding and compliance with current legislation, including Diversity and Equality and Safeguarding
  • Commitment to inclusive and comprehensive educational provision
