We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Designer within our Design and Marketing team. This is a brand new position, with a start date of January 2016.

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 17:00, Friday 08:00 to 12:00
38 hours per week

Context of Job and Key Relationships:

  • To contribute to the success of the design team by providing creative flair, originality and a strong visual sense.
  • Working with the artwork team to ensure all presented designs will translate into printed packaging across all mediums. Confidence to present and explain ideas to clients and colleagues is required.
  • The post holder will work alongside QA, Packing, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Repro and Print suppliers.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Working on campaigns for key launches: packaging through to in-store display and print advertisements
  • Collating project requirements via a brief form and meetings
  • Providing design options for each project that fit the clients' needs as well as options that push the boundaries in order to keep the brand style current
  • Amending designs according to the clients' final comments
  • Competitor and trend research and evaluations
  • Working to our clients and international brand design guidelines
  • Organizing own workload ensuring all deadlines are met, working overtime if necessary
  • Keeping up to date and organised records of work and filing work appropriately
  • To carry out any other tasks commensurate with this post

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Commercial FMCG experience is essential
  • Industry experience of designing across a wide range of packaging, POS and marketing material
  • Strong mac skills in CC
  • A good understanding of packaging print processes and how to design to the limitations
  • Experience of working to brand guidelines
  • Organised and personable, able to communicate effectively with your colleagues and suppliers alike
  • Strong conceptual and strategic thinker
  • Fully experienced in creating and amending artwork
  • Reliable, enthusiastic and happy to hit the ground running
  • Ability to follow pre-set procedures / practices
