Learning Support in Foundation

We are currently working with a large college in the Cheshire area to support students with additional needs. A need for a specific SEN teaching assistant to support one student with complex needs on a one to one basis with a bespoke package of learning.

The job:
? To provide in-class support across the College for an individual in response to learners needs
? To provides 1:1 support to students in the Learning Skills Centre to include literacy, numeracy, IT, assignment work, study skills and mentoring in order to help them achieve their potential.
? To be involved in provision of exam access arrangements and administration tasks within the LSC as needed.
? Supports the review of the progress of the individual student using review documentation.
? Liaises and reports to relevant Curriculum Support Team Leader and Learning Support Manager on issues relating to individual students and their support needs which become apparent during the year in order to ensure learners are supported appropriately.

Based in Nantwich this college is constantly expanding and is situated on a large plot of land in the Cheshire countryside. This is a large college which caters for students all over Manchester and Cheshire with a variety of academic and vocational courses.

The Child:
? The college offer extra support for students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and Asperger?s Syndrome.
? The college can also provide help for those with visual or hearing impairments and other physical disabilities.
? Students study a variety of horticultural, engineering, animal management courses and require extra help to complete their studies.
? This student has a bespoke package of learning with specific objective and learning goals

You must have experience of notetaking and supporting a student with complex needs. Ideally Level 3 or equivalent qualification with a willingness to undertake further training in the field of teaching and learning. Minimum GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent. IT skills in MS Office applications.Demonstrable evidence of continuous self development.
