Superb opportunity for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead the marketing strategy for multiple leisure and hospitality brands of the Chester Race Company.

Recognised as a leader in its field, Chester Racecourse was recently named Showcase Champion, an honour awarded for excellence and innovation in British Racing.  A diverse and innovative privately owned leisure and hospitality business, Chester Race Company is made up of the following divisions: ChesterBET / BangorBET, Express by Holiday Inn, Horseradish Catering, Restaurant 1539, Common Hall Street Social, The White Horse, Bangor on Dee Racecourse and Chester Polo.  Whilst the core activity is horseracing, there is a continual scope for the development of business opportunities through the enhancement of the organisations commercial strategy across all business areas.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, as The Head of Marketing you'll be responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy to generate increased brand awareness across all business areas. As the Head of Marketing your duties will include, although not be limited to;

• Assisting the Senior Management team in developing the commercial and marketing strategies
• Strategically driving and developing all brands within the Chester Race Company portfolio
• Managing a team of four within the department, whilst applying a keen focus on employee engagement and personal development
• Managing and coordinating internal and outsourced resources to ensure successful delivery of marketing plans across a busy events calendar whilst supporting the business as usual requirements
• Managing the marketing budget in excess of £500k whilst ensuring maximum return on investment
• Reviewing and centralising current CRM processes
• Offering comprehensive, creative and dynamic support to the brand identity and continuing to develop commercial awareness as the organisation diversifies into various industries
• Working collaboratively with the Sales Team, you'll be responsible for analysing trends in order to develop, apply and execute your successful marketing strategy
• Whilst acting as a brand ambassador you'll be developing and managing collaborative relationships with key local and regional stakeholders

To be considered for this Head of Marketing role you'll have the following experience, skills, knowledge and attributes;

• Senior management experience in the marketing of a large venue or multi-site operation, demonstrating ability develop and deliver innovative strategic plans and monitor performance against agreed objectives
• Proven experience of strategic financial management and budgetary control
• Evidence of managing and developing high performing multi-disciplinary teams and an ability to lead, motivate and manage staff effectively
• Experience of organisational development and change management
• A track record of establishing, managing and developing collaborative and commercial relationships with a range of internal and external organisations
• Experience of high-level external facing leadership, which has enhanced the profile and brand of an organisation
• Good understanding and knowledge of CRM systems with the ability to implement new processes to ensure best use of customer information
• Pragmatic with an energetic, persuasive and engaging personality
• Creative flair with a strong commitment to quality, customer service and with an excellent attention to detail
• Collaborative style of working and enjoy working as part of a team whilst leading from the front
• A "do-er" willing to 'roll your sleeves up' when required and resolves issues with minimum fuss

Relevant marketing qualifications with chartered status would be beneficial although not essential.

Salary:                         CIRCA £50,000 per annum, level dependent upon current experience, plus very competitive annual performance based bonus scheme

Location:                      Chester (Cheshire, North West England)

Hours of Work:             8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday work will be required to support race days, however time off in lieu will be given

Contracted Hours:        40 Hours per week
