This is a unique opportunity to become part of a fast growing, multi-million pound internet business, leading a sales team working in a vibrant marketplace. The sales team, which is mostly telesales focused, requires a Sales Manager to provide leadership to a team of nine. It will be the responsibility of the successful candidate to line manage the team to deliver challenging new sales targets, as well as retaining existing business.
The successful candidate will be based in their offices, providing support to the team, carrying out side by side coaching, reviewing performance and reporting to the Directors. In addition, the Sales Manager will provide a point of escalation for customers.
This role is one that comes with a good deal of autonomy, and represents an opportunity to shape the team around the priorities of the business as it expands. The Sales Manager will be responsible for taking the overall targets of the business, and appropriately applying these to the individuals in the team, then monitoring and developing them to achieve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management and development of the sales team
- Regular reviews with the team
- Regular reporting to the Directors
- Development of specific sales targets for each member of the team, supported by a development plan for the individual to ensure achievement
- Forecasting of future sales revenue
- Work with the Directors to create and implement a sales strategy to continue growth
- Coordinate sales activity with other teams in the business
- Provide training and coaching to the sales team on appropriate skills
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will be educated to at least A Level (or equivalent) standard. A degree, especially in a relevant subject will be an advantage, but not a necessity.
- Any relevant professional qualifications will be an advantage.
- Whilst not a technical role, candidates will be expected to be internet-savvy, and able to show an understanding of web products.
- A valid driver's license is required for this role.
Experience:
This role is ideal for an experienced sales manager, with at least two years' experience. Candidates should have a demonstrable track record of delivering improvement in teams, both in terms of revenue and margin, but also in personal development of staff.
Salary:
£30,000 - £35,000 plus £10,000 - £15,000 bonus.
