United Response is a leading national charity and we provide support for over 2000 people with learning disabilities, mental health needs or physical disabilities. We have an opportunity for a Support Worker to join us on a full time (37.5 hrs pw) basis within our Truro Service.

Join us and support individuals to live the lives they choose. Because we are all different, your role as a Support Worker will be varied - what you do and how you do it will depend on the needs of the individuals you are supporting. No two days are the same but could include supporting a person to:

  • Meet up with friends and enjoy their hobbies

  • Make meals and carry out household tasks

  • Manage their finances

  • Take medication

  • Get washed and dressed

  • Stay healthy and safe

To be a great Support Worker, you don’t need previous experience or qualifications. What you do need is compassion, integrity and to treat people with dignity and respect. You need to be reliable because people are depending on you, be able to travel between locations and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and overnight as needed. You also need to be a great communicator, both verbally and in writing and have basic IT and numerical skills.You will also be providing positive support to this person with some behaviors that could be challenging.
