Our client based in Kettering recruit an Assistant Accountant to join a accounts team.

Our client is a successful company that service clients nationwide.

This role is varied and requires a candidate with experience and good understanding of all aspects of accounts.

Job Description:

* Reports to the Financial Controller
* To assist the Financial Controller in all accounting activities within the company.
* To calculate and pay the wages and salaries of the company's employees.
* To maintain the computerised bought and sales ledgers and perform monthly inputs to the nominal ledger.
* To maintain the cash book and petty cash book.
* To carry out credit control.
* To reconcile and issue all payments owed by the company, including expenses.
* To perform reconciliation and analysis of accounting enquiries.
* To perform the bank reconciliation.
* To reconcile and analyse credit card receipts with statements.
* To reconcile and submit quarterly VAT returns.
* To ensure that all employment-related documentation as required by current legislation and company procedures is maintained and issued. This includes Personnel Records, Training Records, Employment Statements and Job Descriptions for all employees.
* To prepare and issue the documentation involved when employees join and leave the company.
* To monitor all sickness and holiday leave and payments made in respect thereof.
* To provide backup for the Financial Controller during holiday and sickness.
* To provide backup for the reception during holiday and sickness.
* To follow the procedures set out in the Quality Assurance Manual, the Quality Procedures and the Working Procedures.
* To observe at all times the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974; to maintain generally safe and clean working areas.
* To perform any adhoc duties as and when required.
