Location: Southampton

Salary: £17,680-£25,000 subject to experience

Position: Full Time, Permanent

They're looking for a special person to join their special company. Far more than a regular technical role, they're looking for a sysadmin who enjoys a variety of work, is keen to learn & develop their skills, is able to prioritise a busy workload and make decisions, and most importantly of all, is always aware of what the customer needs.

The Systems Administrator role is a key position at the very heart of the company, and is primarily responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of servers and networks for their small business clients, and the various physical, virtual, and cloud servers they operate within their business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implementation, and migration of new client & company servers
  • Providing 2nd/3rd line technical support via phone, remote access, and on-site
  • Ensuring availability and security of services
  • Monitoring of client & company servers and working to maximise uptime
  • Helping & training technical colleagues in their roles

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Has experience building & supporting Windows Servers (2003+) - MCSA Preferred
  • Has implemented & supported Virtualised Server (VMWare preferred)
  • Has strong network skills including security & troubleshooting
  • Is highly organised with exceptional attention to detail & communication skills
  • Demonstrates a positive 'can-do' attitude, is keen to learn, and aims to be successful in all they do

Desirable Experience:

  • Administering Linux Server Operating Systems (CentOS)
  • Amazon Web Services / Web Hosting
  • Previous helpdesk / job management experience useful
  • As the role may occasionally involve visiting clients & suppliers, it is preferred that candidates have a full UK driving license.

The Offer:

The starting salary offered for this role will be between £17,680 and £25,000 subject to experience, and will increase with your value to the business.
