Senior Internal Auditor ( IT )

A salary of £33,637 - £37,134 is payable. You will have flexible start and finish times and access to civil service pension arrangements. The Place – Located in the vibrant waterfront city of Plymouth, our environmentally friendly office provides a great setting for the Senior Internal Auditor ( IT ) to work. Hundreds of miles of stunning coastline and 368 squares miles of Dartmoor National Park are within easy reach.  The successful candidate will be expected to potentially travel to all offices within Land Registry in order to complete internal audits as part of the job requirement.

               

The Organisation – For over 150 years Land Registry has protected and guaranteed peoples land and property rights by keeping and maintaining the Land Register for England and Wales. Today that register covers 86% of land mass in England and Wales and contains more than 24 million titles (the evidence of ownership) estimated to hold £4 trillion of property value and is one of the largest property databases in Europe. The information it holds is essential to the property market which itself is worth hundreds of billions of pounds per year – underpinning one of the strongest economies in the world

The Job – As a Senior Internal Auditor ( IT ) you will be responsible for conducting reviews of Land Registry’s risk management, control and governance arrangements with a strong focus on IT systems and processes. You will draft audit reports for senior management and the Audit Committee, making reasoned recommendations for improvement.

The Senior Internal Auditor ( IT ) will deliver professional internal audit products and services, whilst observing all relevant internal audit standards and practices.

The Person:  In order to be successful the Senior Internal Auditor ( IT ) must be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience;

- Strong IT background, supported by relevant qualifications

- Clear understanding of good practice within IT systems, controls and processes

- Good communicator with the ability to effectively advise on all aspects of the internal audit process

- Understands IT risks, their impact on the organisation and how information systems may be used to help manage risk and provide assurance.

It is desirable, but by no means essential, for the Senior Internal Auditor ( IT ) to hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification in internal audit (CIIA or CCAB qualification), however if not, Land Registry may support you in gaining this.
