Salary: 16-22k (Depending on experience)

Our client is based in Salford, they have great offices, a fantastic subsidised canteen, 25 days holiday, PMI* and opportunities to travel to around Asia and discounted clothing.

They are looking for experienced, passionate and dedicated Designers of all levels to join them, specialising in either knitwear, jersey, denim, wovens or possibly multi-product.

They work on behalf of clients across the world specialising in apparel and due to continued business growth and success, they have opportunities here in our office based in Salford, Manchester.

Key Designer responsibilities:

  • Accountable for creating ranges within the team based in the clients specifications.
  • Commercially aware of current trends and themes, developing the brand and working with production to ensure all products are designed and manufactured in line with the customers’ direction and critical path within sometimes tight deadlines.
  • Working as part of the design team to provide an effective and efficient service to various areas of the business.
  • Daily contact with third parties including the Far East
  • Daily contact with our customers at different levels  
  • Supporting the business in adding value to its clients, understanding and researching new product development opportunities.
  • Share knowledge of manufacturing process and techniques.

Designer specification:

  • The successful applicants will have at least one years design experience within a fashion industry for the designer roles, assistant designer roles may be considered with less experience
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials is desirable
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines is essential
  • Target driven with a passion for fashion and the confidence to grow and develop.
  • Ability to produce technical sheets for manufacturing products
  • Flexible with working hours including overtime and travel.
  • Strong CAD skills and Illustrator experience
  • Creative and innovative with confidence to present ideas to others
  • Good presentation skills
  • Digital approach to working processes
