Flexible UK Location - Dorset 2 - 4 Days Per Month
£30,000 - £32,000 Basic OTE £35,000 - £37,000 + Fully Expensed Company Car, Pension Scheme, 20 Days Annual holiday, rising to 25 days plus public holidays 


Company Overview:

We are a highly successful and growing independent dairy, manufacturing and supplying a range of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing, foodservice and wholesale customers from a dedicated and well-invested processing site in Dorset. 

Working closely and in partnership with some of the UK’s largest food manufacturers and wholesalers, the company manufactures high quality ingredients that are used in a wide range of food products including ice cream, yogurt, chocolate, confectionery, ready meals, soups, sauces and bakery. 

The Area Sales Manager Opportunity:

The company is now seeking to appoint an additional Area Sales Manager to support and drive their ambitious growth plans.

Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager the Area Sales Manager will have autonomous responsibility for managing a portfolio of existing food manufacturing and wholesale accounts, as well as developing new customer opportunities. 

Key objectives for the role will be to deliver growth, maximise profit and develop long term business relationships all of which are consistent with the company’s strategic objectives. 

In addition, you’ll be part of a company that gives real autonomy, responsibility, trust and has a strong people culture at its centre. There will be personal development opportunities for you as well and a great opportunity to learn within a leading FMCG food manufacturing business.

You are likely to be of graduate calibre with 2-3 years previous FMCG sales experience and now actively looking to step up into your first commercial account management role, taking on full responsibility for your own customer base and all that entails. 

Your background is likely to be in food and drink and previous experience of the dairy sector would be an advantage but not essential. More importantly, you will need to display a confident, articulate and persuasive personality, combined with a passion and drive for success and a willingness to be developed further.
 
About the Role:
 
As an Area Sales Manager, you will join a talented group of people who are always willing to go that extra mile for their customers.

The purpose of the Area Sales Manager is not just about selling products. 70% of your time will be spent delivering growth and strong business relationships within existing national manufacturing and wholesale accounts, managing an existing portfolio in excess of £10m. 30% of your time will be spent developing new customer contacts from any part of the food manufacturing / wholesale market. You will be responsible for identifying new customers, listening to and understanding their needs in order to deliver business growth by adding real value to their business. 

You will of course need to meet your volume and financial targets as well as deliver excellent service to your Customers.

> Expand customer base to reach more customers and drive product penetration 
> Developing customer strategy and business plans aligned to our business strategy 
> Customer networking to identify new business opportunities and build strong relationships aligned to the key business priorities. 
> Deliver customer proposals and agreements aligned to specific customer needs. Use internal systems as the basis for all customer investment and activity decisions.

Additional Role Information:

> Extensive travel within you region and occasional overnights required. 
> Attendance at our head office in Dorset 2 - 4 Days per Month.
