Job Title: Depot Assistant

Location: Bermondsey, London

Salary: £15,000 per annum + 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays/public holidays) & benefits

Our Client is the UK's market leader in water treatment and commissioning services within the construction and building services industry. They require an assistant to help run their busy London Depot in Bermondsey. The role has an immediate start date for the successful candidate.

Person specification/essential skills and experience

• Good standard of verbal and written English
• Must be fully competent using excel/email and word (demonstrable)
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload
• Work in a methodical manner so that deadlines can be achieved
• Well presented with a flexible, friendly and enthusiastic attitude (PPE/uniform provided)
• Good level of fitness required for manual handling/heavy lifting

Duties:

• Clean equipment i.e. pumps/ filters before dispatch (presentation)
• Keep yard clean and tidy, sweep and vacuum
• Keep chemical store tidy and locked to stop chemical going out without acknowledgment
• Chemical board to be kept up to date with stock
• Use barcode system correctly, ensuring that it is monitored and kept up to date
• Stocks take on all equipment, chemical, stationery, paper etc.
• Ordering of goods (training in stock control will be given)
• Ensure all access equipment is checked before it is despatched
• Helping with waste management i.e. recycling of empty drums, spent filters etc.
• Ensure all electrical equipment is PAT tested before dispatching from the yard
• Break down and put away fittings in correct location to gain storage
• Act promptly on any received emails for equipment for jobs
• Sending of items for repair/ recalibration
• Prepare deliveries for logistics driver
• Help load and unload van
• Organise yard to maintain maximum storage space
• Repair damaged goods if possible
• Work closely with logistics team
