A fantastic opportunity to join their Commercial Team in the North East has arisen due to an internal promotion. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering strategic targets (volume, price & product) in line with Regional requirements with external and internal customers. The Asphalt Account Manager will be required to work collaboratively with the regional surfacing function to establish/deliver overall business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be confident, driven and able to both develop and deliver strategic actions plans. Key attributes will involve the ability to appraise contracts and excel at developing and managing relationships. They will possess first class interpersonal skills being able to communicate; verbally, in writing and in presentations to a high standard. High levels of integrity; the ability to influence and persuade whilst maintaining excellent working relationships with customers and your team will be essential attributes to success in this role.

Applications are invited from candidates experience in a similar role, with extensive customer account management experience and a proven track record of success in sales, commercial growth and increased profitability. Whilst experience in the aggregates and asphalt sector is a preference, candidates from Account Management roles in other sectors will be considered.

Key Skills / Experience / Qualifications:

  • Formal qualifications are not essential however relevant experience is required
  • A proven track record of being able to "add value" is essential
  • Demonstration of managing and developing customer accounts
  • Commercial understanding
  • Working cross-functionally to deliver customer requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of utilising commercial tools and forecasts.
  • Influencing skills; negotiation skills, change management skills; excellent understanding of regional Asphalt market, understanding of competitive landscape; high level of drive & determination, able to identify customer needs and build solutions; comprehensive product knowledge
