Exciting opportunity with Yorkshire Water Manager of Asset Strategy Based in Bradford An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right individual to lead; develop and shape Yorkshire Water’s future asset strategy. The role is part of the Asset Management Directorate and you will be required to support delivery of the Department's purpose – to provide and manage a safe, reliable and affordable asset base that is optimised for operational risk and delivers the long-term outcomes required by our customers.

Salary & Benefits - £45,546.00 to £64,000.00 per annum dependant on experience + attractive pension + annual performance related bonus+ private healthcare + company car + 28 days holiday

You will lead the development of Yorkshire Water's asset strategy to ensure that we deliver a resilient water service in the future. You will be responsible for articulating how our current asset base and services will evolve in the future to deliver Yorkshire Water's 25 year aspirations laid out in Our Blueprint for Yorkshire. You will also be part of building a wider plan to deliver our long term objectives and to enhance the benefits we deliver to our customers through developing a culture of partnership working.

This is an exciting time, as we are reviewing the types of asset interventions we deliver to ensure we meet the obligations we have to our customers and the regulator, whilst exploring the opportunity to deliver enhanced broader benefits to our customers and the environment. These future asset interventions need to be in line with a totex approach and take account of the commitments we have made as part of the Infrastructure Carbon Review. By taking our responsibility to make Yorkshire a better, cleaner place to live, work and visit seriously, we are helping to attract new business and tourists to our region.

What will the role involve?

The role is part of the Asset Management Directorate and you will be required as part of the wider Asset Management Senior People Leader community to support delivery of the Department purpose – to provide and manage a safe, reliable and affordable asset base that is optimised for operational risk and delivers the long-term outcome required by our customers. This will be done through setting strategic direction for our service offering and asset base; leading a team of technical experts; providing strategy governance and ensuring that a formal business process is documented, improved and adhered to.

What skills are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced individual with a proven track record of establishing clear strategic direction and implementing plans to deliver this. You must be able to foster collaborative relationships and represent Yorkshire Water with our regulators; stakeholders and customers. The ability to communicate with and engage people with differing priorities and perspectives will be key. You must be able to lead multidisciplinary teams and programmes of work.

This is a senior position and as such it will be expected that you demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to drive change and improvement plans at a departmental level.

Previous experience gained within broader utilities or other asset management sectors is essential and previous experience of working in a regulated environment would be advantageous.

Travel will be required for this role as you will be expected to liaise externally with stakeholders and work across our multiple sites, therefore a full valid EU driving licence will be required.

What's in it for you?

Career enhancement and development, colleague well-being and a genuinely positive work experience for all are key priorities. We are continuously evolving and improving our ways of working and you will support us in achieving our vision of 'taking responsibility for the water environment for good'.

If you feel this opportunity is suitable and you match the skills required, then please apply on line and complete the application process. If you could also please submit your CV and covering letter outlining your key reasons for applying for the role.
