The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is a Non-Departmental Public Body, funded by farmers and growers, with a pivotal role to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the UK’s farming and horticulture industries through factual, evidence-based advice, information and activity.
Role purpose will be to assist the AHDB Potatoes Communications Manager in the delivery of the AHDB Potatoes Communications Strategy
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Communications Manager to identify key messages from the Research and Knowledge Transfer teams to deliver relevant targeted communications activities
- Write press releases, technical articles and newsletter content, ensuring messages are clear and appropriate for the levy payer target audience
- Maintain and prepare timely and topical content for website and social media channels ensuring all live content is correct and up to date
- Receive, log and draft responses to media enquiries and gain approval from Communications Manager and other relevant stakeholders where required
The AHDB is going through an exciting period of change and is looking for a Communications Executive to support the Potatoes sector. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across different communications disciplines, including media, digital and events, at a time of exciting growth in the food and farming industry.
Applicants need to be able to demonstrate excellent writing, digital and project management skills. Agricultural knowledge is useful, but not essential.
