Exciting opportunity with Yorkshire Water Flood Risk Analyst Based in Bradford, although will involve travel across the Yorkshire region. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Flood Risk Analyst to work as part of the Flood & Coastal Risk & Engagement Team. You will play a key role in enabling Yorkshire Water to use drainage area plans, working with internal and external stakeholders to pro-actively produce potential solutions to flooding.

Salary & Benefits - £33,641.00 - £45,546.00 per annum dependent on experience + attractive pension + quarterly performance related pay + company car+ 25 days holiday

What will the role involve?

You will play a key role in the Flood Risk & Engagement Team in understanding the current and future operation of various drainage networks in Yorkshire Water, through the use of Drainage Area Plans(DAPs), associated models and corporate data. The role will require the successful candidate to accurately understand and convey technical modelling data and associated risks and convey this information in a clear manner to both internal and external stakeholders.

You will carry out analysis and run varying storm scenario's using hydraulic models to have a full understanding of Yorkshire Water's drainage network and other sources of flooding, enabling identification of areas for operational improvement and highlight areas at risk of flooding and identify mitigation solutions using the information from interrogating the DAP model.

You will be required to assess the mechanisms of flooding from both Yorkshire Water assets and those of third parties and identify both short term mitigation and long term flood alleviation plans to address the flood risks both for Yorkshire Water. A key part of the role will be influencing external stakeholders on the potential solutions to flooding.

What skills are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in drainage and wastewater modelling specifically using InfoWorks CS, ICM, InfoNet and MapInfo. You will have a proven track record in undertaking model building, verification and optioneering. You will be able to assess and audit models to ensure that they are fit for the purpose and develop, design and quantify any additional work required to upgrade the model for the intended use.

A strong communicator both verbally and written, you will have confidence in building up and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders. You will be comfortable working on your own initiative and be organised to meet varying work demands.

A full EU driving licence is a requirement of this role
